Get to the rodeo EARLY to catch the Mutton Bustin'. kicks off 15minutes ahead of each rodeo performance start time! You won't want to miss this crowd favorite! Watch, as these little 5 & 6 year old Buckaroos "cowboy up" for the wildest ride of their young lives atop some of the wildest & woolliest sheep in the bayou! Anything goes, and usually does, as contestants hold on as long as they can! Get to your seats early to catch all the hilarious action.
Participant information: Participation is limited to kids aged 5-6 and not exceeding 55 lbs. All registrants must agree TO BE AVAILABLE to ride at ANY OF THE 4 PERFORMANCES (Jan. 30-31 & Feb. 1, 2025).We will draw to determine in which performance each child will ultimately compete.
Registration for the 2025 rodeo will be held on Saturday, Nov. 23 from 10am-12noon at Boot Barn, located at 2990 E. Prien Lake Rd. in Lake Charles. The first 32 eligible registrants will win the chance to compete at the rodeo! Registration fee is $25 per contestant. Fee is due upon completing the registration. Each contestant will receive a complimentary rodeo ticket voucher. Once we reach 32 eligible contestants, registration will close. Riders returning from last year will have 1st priority to compete. Additional riders will be added from the days registration on a first come first served basis. The drawing will only determine which performance the riders will ride in.
